Given the high number of registrations for the Awards, we will be holding preselections as announced on Saturday the 22nd and 29th of April 2017 between 12 and 1pm. At the preselection, we will be looking at choosing 5 or 6 students per category for the final on Saturday 6th of May. The panel for the final is nearly confirmed and will be made up of musicians Clara Rodriguez (RCM JD), Johan Lofving (Guitarist), and sponsors of the school and competition (we are still confirming participation at that stage).
Some important points for you: If you would like to help and be a part of the pre-selection committee, please can you let us know by return email. Could we please ask you to help your students preparing for the preselections (and later, if selected, the awards) as we are expecting a polished performance (music well known, confidence on stage, etc...). As a reminder: Grade 2/3/4/5 candidates should present one piece lasting no longer than 3mins, grade 6/7/8 one piece lasting no longer than 4mins. Laurie will be available to accompany, if necessary (but solo pieces are also allowed)
